Can A Golf Course Save Orcas?

November 18, 9:00 am12:00 pm

Bothell,

Forterra: Save Wayne

What comes to mind when you think of a golf course? Nine-irons, golf carts, orca whales? Turns out the two aren’t as unrelated as they may seem. Saving an enormous swath of green space along critical salmon habitat has implications that ripple all the way out to Puget Sound and beyond!

Join Forterra’s Riparian Restoration team as we partner with WhaleScout, an organization dedicated to protecting the whales of Puget Sound, and learn about how the health of rivers in your backyard impact the health of orca whales hundreds of miles away! Learn about water quality by testing it yourself, brush up on how to identify and remember the 5 different types of salmon, and (weather permitting) help us improve salmon habitat with a small planting project.

This is a great event for all ages, we hope to see you there!
