Dig In at Redmond’s Viewpoint Open Space!

January 20, 9:00 am12:00 pm

Take on a new initiative and bring this forest back to glory by pulling ivy and removing Stinky Bob (don’t worry, it’s a plant). Viewpoint Open Space has been overrun by invasive  species, and in order to clear space for native plants, we will need all the hands we can get! Come play in the dirt, learn about the Green Redmond Partnership and how it’s helping our local parks, make new friends, and of course have fun while also restoring our green spaces for the enjoyment of all!

When: 9:00am to 12:00pm

Park address: 17541 NE 24th St, Redmond, WA 98052

Where to meet: At the Park entrance off of 24th St

Where to park:  There is street parking across from the park entrance on 176th Ct NE, but please be considerate of the residents living there and don’t park in front of driveways and mailboxes. Please be careful crossing 24th to get to the park!

What to bring: a water bottle, a snack if you want one, and tough clothes, and shoes that can get dirty (because they will!), including long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to protect against prickly blackberry. Closed-toed shoes are required: work boots, hiking boots, or running shoes are all fine. Remember to check the weather and bring appropriate layers and rain gear or sun protection as needed.

Please RSVP by emailing greenredmond@forterra.org (the earlier the better!) so that we can plan a great event for you. All ages welcome. If you are a volunteer under 18 and attending the event without a parent or guardian, please print and bring this waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
