King Conservation District, Forterra, and the City of Redmond are partnering together to launch a new pilot Neighborhood Steward program, and you can be a part of our kickoff celebration! Get your hands dirty and come out to volunteer at our first-ever work party at Redmond’s Monticello Estates Natural Area. Help us remove invasive weeds in order to restore the health of these forests.
Everyone can help! All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all of the tools and training needed.
We will be providing more details on the event as the date draws closer, but if you’re interested in volunteering or would like more information, please email Nicole Marcotte at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 206-905-6924!
Where: Monticello Estates Natural Area, located near 176th ave NE
When: Saturday September 16th, 9am to Noon
What to bring: a water bottle, a snack if you want one, and tough clothes, and shoes that can get dirty (because they will!), including long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to protect against prickly blackberry. Closed-toed shoes are required: work boots, hiking boots, or running shoes are all fine. Remember to check the weather and bring appropriate layers and rain gear or sun protection as needed.
