While we’re all enjoying these sunny summer days, the young plants we planted this winter at Ron Regis Park are a little thirsty! What’s more, there are a number of weeds that are fighting to crowd them out. Join us for a fun morning along the Cedar River as we work together to create healthy habitat for wildlife.
All ages welcome, and no experience necessary. Tools, gloves, instruction and snacks are provided, and we can sign off on community service credit requirements.
Where to Meet: Meet near the parking lot and basketball court. The meeting spot is easily accessible by foot or bike from the Cedar River Trail, or there is plenty of parking.
What to Bring: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking/tennis shoes), long pants, layers and rain jacket. Volunteers under the age of 18 should bring a signed youth waiver with them to the event.
If you have questions or would like to RSVP, please email Alex Selvey (firstname.lastname@example.org).
