Did you know that in the heart of the industrial setting of Tukwila lies a cultural landscape significant in Puget Sound Salish traditional stories?! And that this place is open and free to the public to explore? Come volunteer with us to maintain the health of this beautiful preserve.
Fall Monthly Work Party at the Duwamish Hill Preserve
This Fall come out to explore the Duwamish Hill Preserve while preparing the site for planting in October. This gem of a park is a culturally significant site in our region, and can use more helping hands to assist in its restoration. Volunteer with the Friends of the Hill!
The unique ecosystems at the Duwamish Hill Preserve highlight oak savannahs, camas prairie, wet sedge meadow, and the tule wetland. The hill itself is a geological wonder and is actually older than Mt. Rainier! Come out this November to finish planting and mulching to prepare the saplings for winter!
