They support wildlife\, improve air and water quality\, and help create more resilient ecosystems in our urban environments.  \nWe’ll kick things off with a walk through the preserve and have restoration professionals on hand to share their knowledge and answer your questions about native plants\, the Green Tukwila Partnership\, and Forterra’s long-term stewardship of this special place.  \nWhat we are doing: We’ll be clearing blackberries to protect the native trees and groundcovers that have already been planted by volunteers like you. The Preserve now features a Cultural Garden\, an outdoor classroom\, an enhanced trail system\, and ongoing restoration areas—your efforts will help ensure this space thrives for generations to come. \nWhat to bring: Dress for the weather—layers are your friend! Please bring a reusable water bottle. Forterra will provide snacks\, drinks\, tools\, and gloves. Together\, we’ll have fun!  \nWhere to park: Park in the lot at Duwamish Hill Preserve. View in Google Maps\n \nWhere to meet: Signs will guide you from the parking area to our meeting spot. \nDate and Time: Friday\, October 16\, 2026\, 1:00 –3:30 PM  \nRegister and learn more here.

SUMMARY:Wild Women Walk
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview: \nThis women-only event celebrates the season with a walk through a wintery Northwest landscape. Bundle up and get out there to discover that the forest and all its inhabitants are still there. The frost moon or long night moon\, is remarkable and historically marks a time of reflection and renewal. If we find an appropriate location\, we may gather around a fire. This land-story begins with the owners and private partners recognizing the value of conservation and ultimately working with Forterra to hold and steward the property. Over time\, Forterra developed partnerships with the Bird Alliance and the Morse Force. These community and regional organizations provide the weekly stewardship\, restoration and study particular to this landscape. A gem of a landscape\, Morse Wildlife Preserve is a perfect example of donors\, community and vision of nature and people thriving together. \n  \n  \n
