Event Overview:

Amble through the 117 acres (trail is 1 mile) of wetland and upland forest where flowers are blooming everywhere. Plants will be bursting with spring growth and we’ll look for clues on how to identify them. Ryan Johnson (Firecraft NW) is a naturalist whose specialty is plant ID and wildlife tracking. We’ll explore the differences between wetland plants and upland forest species and learn which animals find the new growth tasty to nibble on. Bonus: Ryan also knows his birds, which we will keep an eye and ear out for. With Mother’s Day a week away, consider making this a family outing.

About Ryan Johnson

He is a founding member of Firecraft NW. Schooled in biology and phycology, Ryan has deep experience in outdoor adventuring. As a Pacific NW naturalist, he has a passion for birding, shelter building, tracking and teaching. He notices everything and will surprise you with the signs left by wildlife.
