March 30 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Event Overview:

See Morse Wildlife Preserve waking up from its wintry slumber as we explore prairie, wetland and upland forest trails. Licia Sahagun and Ryan Johnson of Firecraft NW are naturalists and educators who will unveil hidden inhabitants of this beautiful landscape. We’ll listen and attempt to identify the many birds that have recently migrated from California to Mexico. Along the way we’ll look for animal tracks and tune-in to the wild dramas that play out here every day. It’s time to get excited about the new season of Forterra Nature Discovery™.

Join us!

About Ryan Johnson: He is the founder of Firecraft Northwest. Ryan’s education is in biology and psychology, and he has extensive experience as an outdoor educator. With a focus on naturalist skills, his passions include birding, ethnobotany, shelter building, wildlife tracking, and teaching. Ryan’s goal is to help his students notice more about the natural world around them, and hopes to surprise you by pointing out some of the incredible signs left by wildlife.

About Licia Sahagun: She is a co-owner of Firecraft Northwest and has a decade of experience in environment and sustainability work and holds a master’s in Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law. We got to see her experience and love for the outdoors recently at Morse Wildlife Preserve as we examined footprints, listened for birds and speculated on a pile of fresh woodchips and missing tree left by a beaver.
