Dear Friend of Forterra,

We’re thrilled to share the excitement of our sold-out Spring Fundraiser event, where friends old and new came together to celebrate the protection of our precious lands and wildlife.

Renowned bear ecologist and conservationist Chris Morgan inspired us with his words: “The more people feel a deep emotional bond in the natural world, the more likely they are to take steps to protect it.”

The night was a resounding success, raising over $253,000 to support our mission. As our CEO Michelle Connor promised, “We will squeeze every penny you give 10 times over to do the good work on the land.”

Chris Morgan beautifully captured the harmony between wildlife conservation and land preservation, highlighting Forterra’s vital role in creating habitats for all.

If you were unable to attend, you can still show your support: please like or share our posts on Instagram and LinkedIn

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening!

April at Morse Wildlife Preserve will be buzzing with migratory birds returning to feast on the wetland insects and nest among the 300-year-old Garry oaks.

On April 12th, we’re excited to have Eileen Lambert, an educator, naturalist and skilled birder, leading this event. She will engage all our senses to better understand bird behavior and habitats.

We hope you’ll join us at this free event. Sign up today

Join us during Earth Month to make a difference

Join us on Friday, April 18th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Duwamish Hill Preserve in Tukwila for a fun-filled Forterra Friday volunteer event!

Starting with a site tour, we’ll test your eco-knowledge with Earth Day-themed trivia. Then, roll up your sleeves and help us tackle those pesky Himalayan blackberries, making way for native plants and a healthier environment.

You’ll meet our restoration pros who’ll share the latest on plant care, restoration techniques, and the Green Tukwila Partnership.

We’ve got you covered: Tools, gloves, snacks, and drinks are on us!
Special thanks to Delta for sponsoring this event and their team for joining us. Volunteer at Forterra Fridays

The marbled murrelet habitat at Cedar River Estuary

Forterra’s property management team combined a wintry day monitoring trip at the Cedar River Estuary on Willapa Bay with a meet-up with the WA Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) and American Forest Management.

Together, career wildlife biologists, foresters and habitat restoration professionals, evaluated Forterra’s 720-acre property, and the Hawks Point and North River property that WDFW stewards. We took stock of forest health, talked of forest thinning and how to improve the habitat for the endangered marbled murrelet.
