McCollum Park Forest Stewardship
Friday, May 9, 2025, 2 pm to 4 pm
We’re excited to invite you to volunteer with us at McCollum Park, a beautiful 78-acre space in Everett. The park offers a diverse landscape, including forested areas, walking trails, and open fields. It’s also home to the Northwest Stream Center that provides educational programing that focuses on local waterways and stream restoration.
Join us on Friday, May 9, from 2 to 4 PM, to help restore essential forest habitat. We’ll begin with a short educational walk through the park with restoration professionals on hand to answer questions about native plants, invasive species, and local conservation efforts. Dick’s Drive-In staff are adding their helping hands at this event, and wait for it…
There will be free Dick’s burgers to reward everyone’s good work!
What we are doing:
Removing invasive species such as Himalayan blackberry, English ivy, and other noxious weeds to support a healthy forest.
What to bring:
Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a full water bottle. We’ll provide gloves, hand tools, and snacks—but feel free to bring your own gear if you prefer.
Where to park:
McCollum Park (600 128th St SE, Everett, WA 98208)
Where to meet:
We will meet at the northwest end of the park, in the woods behind the swimming pool. Follow the signs and look for the people wearing yellow vests.
