Partner Event: Visit Morse Wildlife Preserve for Second Sundays April-October
August 11 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Event Series (See All)
Come visit the Morse Wildlife Preserve, nearly 100 acres spanning multiple habitats open to the public every second Sunday of the month from April through October.
Come enjoy the Oregon white oak savanna, prairie flowers, and a mixed lowland forest full of cedar and hemlock. Morse Wildlife Preserve is also a birding hotspot, with a resident barn owl, western bluebirds, and a myriad of other species.
You can check them all out at the Morse Hotspot on eBird.
The preserve started with a donation of approximately 50 acres from Lloyd and Maxine Morse. A private party purchased another 40-plus acres and then donated that land to the Tahoma Land Conservancy (now Forterra). Forterra owns the property, while the Tahoma Bird Alliance provides educational programming and support. The Morse Force, a group of dedicated local volunteers, provides essential management and maintenance support.
