Community Focused

Land for community. Land for climate. Land for conservation. Land for Good. Our lands are vital. For more than 30 years Forterra has developed and implemented innovative programs to conserve our natural spaces and support communities throughout western Washington and the central Cascades. Support from people across the region has been essential to that success. Today, in the face of the climate crisis, we need to redouble these efforts – we need as many people as possible to join us.

Be part of the Land for Good story with a donation today.

land for climate.

We’re already seeing the impacts of climate change on a regular basis locally – think of smoke choking the region during fire season, more intense weather patterns, or the droughts impacting habitats and our agricultural industry. We must act – and we can. It starts with investing in our communities and our lands to improve our region’s resiliency against climate change.

Land for Community.

A healthy environment is essential to healthy communities. Forterra not only conserves natural spaces and working lands, but also invests in places where people live. We listen and work in collaboration so that anything we build embodies the identity of the community and our shared desire for sustainability. We honor the self-determination of the communities we serve and work toward innovative solutions on everything from urban forests to housing and economic development.

land for conservation.

Forterra has conserved more than 275,000 acres of community, habitat and recreational land since 1989. We currently manage more than 17,000 acres and are dedicated to the stewardship of these properties. We partner with and work in collaboration with landowners, neighbors and third parties to conserve the land’s unique assets over the long-term, protect habitats and support communities – both natural and human.

WE THINK ABOUT CONNECTIONS AND IMPACT.

We address the important connections between people and land – focusing on land-based solutions with climate and large-scale impact – creating partnerships that support equitable solutions and empowering the communities we serve.
